Treatment Information

Types of Treatment we Offer

Individual Therapy

Master’s-level clinicians and/or licensed psychotherapists at our treatment center offer individual therapy sessions with every client at least two times per week. Each client’s primary therapist will be assigned to him or her depending upon the identified presenting concerns, the therapeutic approach that will be used to effectively address those concerns, and the specific training that the therapist possesses. These sessions occur in a confidential, one-on-one setting where the client is provided the opportunity to discuss his or her progress in treatment, address any concerns that may arise, and process through various feelings that he or she may be experiencing.

Group Therapy

At the time that the clients are admitted into WPRC, they are assigned to a small group of peers who are engaged in the same treatment. This group will meet together for group therapy sessions up to five times per week. In addition to serving as a general process group, topics that are covered during these group sessions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Anger Management
  • Dealing with Depression
  • Didactic Lectures
  • Grief and Loss
  • Healing Anxiety
  • Psychodrama
  • Relapse Prevention
  • Shame and Resilience
  • Mindfulness Practice
  • Music Therapy

Therapeutic & Recreational Activities

In order to help our clients build a stronger sense of self and increased confidence as they overcome their substance abuse and mental health concerns, our treatment program offers a variety of therapeutic activities, which are conducted on weekly basis. A client’s participation in such activities will be outlined in his or her treatment plan and may include the following:

  • Adventure Therapy (Rock Climbing, Ropes Courses and Hiking)
  • Aqua Therapy (Surfing, Paddle Boarding, and Swimming)
  • Team Building (Escape Rooms, Softball, Miniature Golf and Bowling Tournaments)
  • Neurofeedback Therapy
  • Somatic Experiencing
  • Expressive Art Therapy
  • Yoga & Breathwork

Medication Management

When individuals at our treatment center are struggling with the presence of a mental health and/or substance use disorder, the implementation of psychotropic medications may be incorporated into their overall plan of care. The need for such medications, however, is always determined on a case-by-case basis. Clients who are attending our treatment program will have the opportunity to meet with a psychiatrist as often as once per week or as needed so that any medications that have been prescribed can be monitored for therapeutic effectiveness and any necessary changes can be made.
